Where the hell is it?
What? OH! The game. The granny shooting game. yeah.
Good thing I don’t have a publisher breathing down my neck, or I’d have been fired by now. Still, I have semi-good reasons for not releasing it yet. The main one is after my RAM died, my decent graphics card kicked the bucket. I’m now stuck with a GeForce FX5200, and I swear I remember it being faster than this… boy was I wrong. I’m actually getting slow down when I play Biddie Crisis with it, which is slightly worrying, but I’m going to chalk it down to the graphics card being an absolute crock of shite.
Fear not, though! I have a plan, and if the plan works out, I’ll have myself a new graphics card (among other things) and Biddie Crisis will be back on track! It’s like 99% complete anyway, I’m just a picky bastard about releasing things that I don’t consider 100% complete.
In other news, I’ve been using Flash to develop a game! I don’t hate it anywhere near as much as I used to, infact I think I’m actually starting to enjoy using it. I’ve been working on a christmas game, and it’s kind of like Pyoro, except its more based on Pyoro 2, but this time you’re a snowman with an infinite supply of carrot noses to fire. It’ll hopefully be up within the next week or so, depending on EXTERNAL FORCES.
That’s all for now. I’m off to squeeze money out of people.

Here’s a couple of 3d things I made recently, inspired by works of Kenneth Fejer www.kennethferjer.com

Ghostbuster trap!

Don’t buy RAM off eBay
…but that should be obvious! (even though it was brand new…)
Turns out it was a dodgy stick of RAM that was causing all of my problems, but a fresh OS install is never a bad thing!
I’ve probably said this three or four times now, but Biddie crisis has music! yay! I actually have more music than I thought I would, so multiple track select ahoy!
Gamemaker is also behaving itself now, too, so everything is back on track. I’m probably going to regret saying this, but I’d say its only a few days away now
The crap goes on!
Today I formatted my PC in the hope that it would fix the recent problems I’ve been having, such as random crashes, Gamemaker games not loading properly and other random crap. Unfortunatly it hasn’t solved any of these problems, so I’m led to believe some of my hardware is on its way out- I just don’t know what. So! It looks like I’m going to have to finish off Biddie Crisis on the computer downstairs and work on any other games I make using Gamemaker 6 (I only seem to have the problem in Gamemaker 7).
For the 4 people that actually know what Biddie Crisis is, sorry for the delays!
Good news is the music is done, so now its just a matter of putting it all together and releasing it, yay!
No commentsYay, more delays!
Okay, so the good news is I have music being made for Biddie Crisis now, by several people in fact, so I think there will be a music select screen or a randomiser etc.
The bad news is my computer is being a tit right now, well, and gamemaker 7. Gamemaker decided to corrupt my main game file, but luckily the backup file works okay. There’s still a problem though, Gamemaker seems to randomly stop loading the game when I try and test it. I tried it with some of my other games and the same thing happens, so its not the biddie crisis game file thats the problem. I also don’t think its Gamemakers problem as I’ve reinstalled it about 3 times now. My computer has been randomly rebooting with different bluescreen errors the past couple of months, so I’m sure its all related somehow. Not to worry though, I’m totally going to format my PC tomorrow and do a fresh install of windows. Hopefully this won’t cause too much of a delay to Biddie crisis!
Lets see how long I can keep my computer clutter-free this time, I always promise myself I won’t let it happen, but it never works
Biddie Crisis status
Biddie Crisis is pretty much ready. At the moment I’m in the process of looking for someone to do some music tracks for the game, but it’s been difficult as I wasn’t entirely sure what style I wanted. I originally wanted something rock-ish with guitars and all that badass stuff, but it’s proven a bit difficult finding someone who can make that kind of music, so I think I’m going with drum ‘n bass/breakbeat for now. As soon as I’ve got the music for it I can release the game.
That game with old ladies…
I’m running a bit late with releasing Biddie Crisis as I’ve been away for a few days, it shouldn’t be much longer, though!
No commentsPXTone DLL for Gamemaker
If anyone likes the PXTone format (who doesn’t?!) and also happens to use Gamemaker, I have created a wrapper DLL that allows the PXtone sound engine to be utilized from within Gamemaker.
You can download the ZIP file here.
For the PXtone music editor and tutorials, go here
It includes the DLL, the scripts, a GM6 example and a list of all the functions and what they do.
You can use my wrapper in free or commercial stuff (I don’t know if Pixel has a different license agreement for PXtone.dll), but credits or a link to this site would be nice.
